Here’s a spicy sriracha hummus recipe with just the right kick to keep you reaching for more. It’s creamy, bright, and packed with Sriracha hot sauce.

Spicy Hummus Recipe
This Sriracha hummus is a fast and flavorful bean dip perfect for parties, snacks or a colorful appetizer. It comes together in about 15 minutes in a blender or food processor. Use it to dip vegetables, pita, crackers or toasted bread. Want more flavor? Add extra garlic. Want more heat? Add more Sriracha.
Best Type of Bean for Hummus
Canned chickpeas (garbanzo beans) are the classic choice, but canned white beans such as cannellini or Great Northern make an even creamier hummus. White beans blend smoother and often require less added liquid, producing a silkier texture. If you use white beans, start with the oil and add water only as needed to avoid a thin consistency.
What to Serve with Spicy Sriracha Hummus?
- Soft pita bread
- Pita chips
- Fresh vegetables (carrots, celery, cucumber)
- Toasted bread

If using cannellini or other white beans, they’ll be creamier than garbanzos. Start with the oil and add water sparingly to reach the desired texture. Adjust garlic and Sriracha to taste.
Ingredients
- 15 ounces (420g) canned garbanzo beans (chickpeas), drained & rinsed
- 1/2 cup (120ml) extra-virgin olive oil
- 1/4 cup (60ml) Sriracha sauce
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) fresh lime juice
- 2 teaspoons (10ml) soy sauce (use Tamari for gluten-free)
- 1 teaspoon (10ml) sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, roughly chopped
- 1/4 cup (60ml) water (optional, if needed)
- Salt, to taste
Instructions
- In a blender or food processor, combine the beans, olive oil, Sriracha, lime juice, soy sauce, sesame oil and garlic. Blend until smooth, stopping and scraping the sides as needed. If the mixture is too thick, add water one tablespoon at a time until you reach a creamy consistency.
- Taste and season with salt as needed. Blend briefly to incorporate.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight to let the flavors meld. Store airtight in the refrigerator for several days.
- Serve with pita, vegetables, crackers, chips or toast.
